Welcome to my Colorful Corner of New York!

Hi! I’m Kate. I live and work in Sunnyside, Queens with my family. In my home’s basement studio, I create pillows, paintings, prints, stickers, ornaments and keychains inspired by NYC iconography, telling the story of our city through joyful and whimsical illustration.

Every product you see is illustrated with love and handmade by me with care.

Our life in Sunnyside inspired these books, illustrated by me and written by Amy Shoenthal.

How It Started…

I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember. As a high school student in DC and college in New York City, I experimented with painting, drawing and writing graffiti. After graduating college, I moved to Florence, Italy to continue studying painting and printmaking.

I then moved to San Francisco, where I began to make mixed media art using stitching, embroidery and silk screen. In 2009 I settled in Queens, New York, developing my illustration work inspired by nature, the city around me, and my kids.
